Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Associate Dentist to join our busy, modern dental practice in central Nanaimo. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive dental care to patients of all ages, ensuring high-quality treatment and exceptional patient experiences. The Associate Dentist will be responsible for diagnosing, planning, and executing a wide range of dental procedures, including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and more.
Duties
Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including oral examinations and medical history reviews using dental terminology and medical records management.
Deliver a variety of dental treatments such as dental extractions, root canal therapy, prosthodontics, and other restorative procedures with precision and adherence to aseptic techniques.
Utilize dental imaging tools and medical imaging technology to diagnose dental conditions accurately.
Apply infection control protocols in accordance with HIPAA regulations and OSHA standards to ensure patient safety.
Engage in four-handed dentistry practices to improve efficiency and patient comfort during procedures.
Maintain detailed documentation of patient care using electronic health records
Educate patients on oral health maintenance, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health.
Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth clinic operations and exceptional patient care delivery.
Stay current with advancements in general dentistry and related specialties through continuing education.
Qualifications
DDS or DMD degree from an accredited institution; active state licensure required.
Proven experience in general dentistry with proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical documentation.
Hands-on experience with dental office software AbelDent preferred
Strong knowledge of pediatric dentistry, endodontics (including root canal therapy), prosthodontics, oral surgery (including dental extractions), and infection control protocols.
Ability to perform complex procedures like root canals, dental fabrication, and implant placements if applicable.
Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach tailored to pediatrics and diverse patient populations.
Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry and proficiency in medical imaging techniques.
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of medical records and patient information.
