What You’ll Do Here: Accountable for reporting on progress, managing staff competence and development, delivery of and maintain an internal audit schedule ensuring projects are following governance. Manages and ensure the activities related to safety assurance are applied in the projects. Manages creation of and approve the Safety Reports and the Safety Case. Oversees the preparation of technical reports for submission to the management, clients, and the regulatory authorities. Manages risk assessments for specific discipline areas, being able to self-sufficiently plan, run and write up risk workshops. Fosters a safety culture and is seen as a safety role model on the project. What You’ll Bring to the Team: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or all other equivalent training. 10+ years of relevant experience. Relevant safety designations an asset. High degree of technical proficiency in dealing with all safety related aspects of large scale and complex Railway projects, involving multiple players. Strong knowledge in the modern Railway projects, including various components/systems that these projects are made of. Knowledge of design and construction management aspects of Railway Projects. What You’ll Do Here: Perform quality checks on submitted federated and native models to ensure that they comply with project requirements, modeling directives, LOD matrix and identified BIM uses cases in the BIM execution plan. Assist with clearing clashes detected ACC model coordination module by filtering minimal interfaces from actual design issues. Perform model walks to identify modeling anomalies, accessibility and construability issues not picked up by the clash detector. Verify element attributes completion and compliance with the BIM execution plan. Create, assign and monitor issues to consultants in ACC. Verify that 2D drawings are extracted with 1:1 element relationship from the BIM model. Read the design drawing package and understand the design intent to verify if the design is extracted from the 3D model. Perform quantity take-offs using cut/fill tracking and XML surface extractions from C3D native files. Perform quantity take-offs for vertical scope from native Revit and Navisworks files when applicable Support the IDD Manager in coordinating and following up with tasks assigned to consultants. Collaborate with the Scheduling department to build and maintain 4D scheduling model is preferred as a nice to have. What You’ll Bring to the Team: Educational and industry experience requirements include engineering and architecture degrees or equivalent combinations of technical training plus experience/knowledge of civil construction practice. Proficiency with model federation platforms such as, Navisworks Proficiency in BIM authoring tools such as REVIT, AutoCAD & Civil 3D. Knowledge of Common Data Environments such as ACC . Understanding of infrastructure and construction industry practices, processes, standards Working knowledge of EHS regulations. Experience across all stages of a project lifecycle is desirable. Experience of working within construction project environments is desirable . 3-5 years of related working experience. Strong problem-solving skills. Experience with quantity take-offs. Carry out detailed constructability reviews to develop the engineering design requirements, project schedule, manpower and procurement requirements. Plan and implement an engineering and construction program, including defining the project plan, activities, milestones, and manpower requirements. Assist in developing and maintains the project schedule and budget for the engineering and construction segments of the project. Identify project milestones and adjustment to schedules. Identify project manpower requirements and coordinates manpower with appropriate trades and subcontractors. Coordinate preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design documents, as built drawings, turnover documents, etc. Review project design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements and related specifications. Coordinate activities relating to technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering design and test problems. Evaluate and recommend design changes, specifications and drawing releases. Provide status and progress reports to customer, project team, and management. Involve actively in quality assurance with regards to understating and implementing policies and procedures. Is a collaborative construction representative who works with Quality, Design, Project Controls and all other project/site function leads for detailed project handover and setup. Regularly works with site Client Representative, in a professional manner, on routine work updates Works with necessary subcontractors, union representatives and regulatory bodies to ensure work can proceed as planned. Works with EHS representatives to create and uphold project/site specific EHS programs and policies Maintains a positive project culture, keeping morale high, through frequent check-ins on progress and career development Creates detailed construction schedules, in consultation with the overall project schedule Develop in-depth understanding of applicable scope, with knowledge of the work that is contracted and agreed upon between the project/site and client Identifies risks, assists in creation of mitigation strategies and implements the strategies if necessary. Identifies requests outside of contracted scope, raises change management issues and implements as necessary, including schedule, materials and subcontractor updates. Creates detailed look-ahead schedules (look ahead window as determined by project), ensuring proper staffing and materials are available when required. Relevant experience in a site leadership position, leading large, multidisciplinary project teams. Well-developed leadership skills gained through managing trade and/or non-trade teams on a construction site Applicable technical training obtained through trade certification or post-secondary education.
