    The Sr. System Integration Engineer is part of the engineering team that develops marine navigation and bridge systems for OSI’s government and naval markets. The Systems Engineer plays a critical role in the development of the overall system requirements’ design and definition for OSI’s complex products. The Sr. Systems Engineer will execute various system engineering functions throughout the life cycle of the project. The incumbent has experience in working with various organizations and system components (software engineering, hardware engineering, integration and test, production, manufacturing and logistics) and can take on the technical lead of a project.
    Responsibilities Develops integration and test concepts, and generates technical proposal material in response to Request for Quotation (RFQ) in these areas;Selects, prototypes, evaluates, and recommends hardware and software for addressing component-level and system-level integration and test problems;Supports the project teams in maintaining the physical condition of the OSI integration and laboratory test facilities, by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting & maintaining equipment; raising repairs and requisitions for replacement;Authors/Reviews System Integration and Test Plans, Procedures and Reports;Author/Review artifacts with significant integration impact, particularly Interface Control Documents, Installation Guidance Documents, and artifacts surrounding the verification of supplier specifications;Authors/Reviews System Integration and test specific Systems Engineering Process, under supervision of the Systems Engineering Process Authority;Contributes to internal design reviews, particularly Preliminary Design Reviews, Critical Design Reviews, including: Reviews existing and upcoming designs for potential operational vulnerabilities and problems;Reviews existing and upcoming designs for potential violations of design-for-test and design-for-supportability;Attends/Leads internal readiness reviews, particularly Production Readiness Reviews, Integration Readiness Reviews and Test Readiness Reviews;Attends/Leads customer acceptance events, particularly Factory Acceptance, Setting to Work, Harbour Acceptance and Sea Trials Acceptance Events;Develops and recommends corrective actions for system problem reports;Supervises/Executes validation of technical publications as it pertains to the build of the system;Trains/Supports Service Engineers and Technicians to facilitate follow on builds from first article;Manages scope of work, schedules work, estimates effort and costs, and identifies technical risks; effectively communicates status on a regular basis to management;Works in both a team environment and independently with minimum supervision.

    The Sr. System Integration Engineer is part of the engineering team that develops marine navigation and bridge systems for OSI's government and naval markets. The Systems Engineer plays a critical role in the development of the overall system requirements' design and definition for OSI's complex products. The Sr. Systems Engineer will execute various system engineering functions throughout the life cycle of the project. The incumbent has experience in working with various organizations and system components (software engineering, hardware engineering, integration and test, production, manufacturing and logistics) and can take on the technical lead of a project.
    Responsibilities Develops integration and test concepts, and generates technical proposal material in response to Request for Quotation (RFQ) in these areas; Selects, prototypes, evaluates, and recommends hardware and software for addressing component-level and system-level integration and test problems; Supports the project teams in maintaining the physical condition of the OSI integration and laboratory test facilities, by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting & maintaining equipment; raising repairs and requisitions for replacement; Authors/Reviews System Integration and Test Plans, Procedures and Reports; Author/Review artifacts with significant integration impact, particularly Interface Control Documents, Installation Guidance Documents, and artifacts surrounding the verification of supplier specifications; Authors/Reviews System Integration and test specific Systems Engineering Process, under supervision of the Systems Engineering Process Authority; Contributes to internal design reviews, particularly Preliminary Design Reviews, Critical Design Reviews, including: Reviews existing and upcoming designs for potential operational vulnerabilities and problems; Reviews existing and upcoming designs for potential violations of design-for-test and design-for-supportability; Attends/Leads internal readiness reviews, particularly Production Readiness Reviews, Integration Readiness Reviews and Test Readiness Reviews; Attends/Leads customer acceptance events, particularly Factory Acceptance, Setting to Work, Harbour Acceptance and Sea Trials Acceptance Events; Develops and recommends corrective actions for system problem reports; Supervises/Executes validation of technical publications as it pertains to the build of the system; Trains/Supports Service Engineers and Technicians to facilitate follow on builds from first article; Manages scope of work, schedules work, estimates effort and costs, and identifies technical risks; effectively communicates status on a regular basis to management; Works in both a team environment and independently with minimum supervision.
    Qualifications Experience in marine electronics and integrated bridge systems required Experience in defense or government domain preferably in naval ship sector a significant asset Degree in Engineering or Physics, Engineering or related field or equivalent experience Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in Canada an asset 5 years' engineering experience, Minimum 3 years' experience in Systems Engineering; Proven track record in the timely delivery of engineering related projects Strong knowledge of marine navigation and tactical sensors or systems Excellent knowledge of Systems Engineering principles, standards and best practices Working experience in network design and architecture; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Familiarity with requirements and verification management tools such as DOORS Knowledge of safety engineering and human factors engineering is an asset.
