    Job Description
    About this job:
    We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Reinsurance Closing Analyst in Toronto.
    Reinsurance Closing with teams in Dublin, Stamford, Strasbourg and Zurich is responsible for quarterly and yearly closing processes by assuring high levels of data quality.
    In this role, you will be an integral part of the team and have the opportunity to execute your assigned tasks in a self-organized manner, build strong relationships with key stakeholders and make an important contribution to the Reinsurance Closing area.
    Accountabilities and responsibilities include
    Calculation, analysis and monitoring of premium and commission estimates Handling of internal retrocession processes Reconciliations between sub and general ledger Support of internal and external reporting (GAAP, regulatory and statutory reporting) Support of the external and internal audit process Portfolio analyses Support projects and ad-hoc requests as needed Maintenance of appropriate process documentation Cooperation with and support of functional areas such as Finance, Reserving, UW Operation teams
    Qualifications
    About you:
    You are a motivated, highly organized person with a solution-oriented mind set, enjoying collaboration as well as working on your own with the following key skills:
    Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting or related field At least 5 years of experience in the Reinsurance industry, preferably in Finance/Accounting Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a clear attention to details Strong IT skills including experience and skilled use of Microsoft Excel (including Power Pivot and Power Query), knowledge in DXC SICS, SAP Business Object and Power BI is a plus. Openness for continuous improvement and ability to excel in a challenging and fast paced environment Proven experience to thrive in high stress environment with tight deadlines Strong ability to work remotely with team members and with other departments across multiple time zones

    Job Description
    About the role:
    The position is embedded in the Worldwide Pricing & Analytics team, which is part of the Chief Actuarial and Risk Office. You will be based in the Toronto office, which is responsible for pricing Canada and Latin American business.
    Your core responsibility is to be a Business Partner for the underwriters by providing profitability analysis of markets, segments, and/or individual transactions. In this role you will:
    Take ownership of and support and work with the Managing Actuary the pricing analyses for all lines of business within the unit Provide subject matter and functional expertise to internal/external stakeholders for the above segments Support and work with the Managing Actuary for projects to refine key assumptions related to the above segments Liaise with Underwriting, Claims, Reserving, and the Managing Actuary to ensure that pricing reflects all relevant information Utilize PartnerRe actuarial models and understand the underlying actuarial theory Participate on a variety of project teams (model development, annual parameter studies, ad hoc requests)
    Qualifications
    About you:
    You have gained 3 to 5 years of work experience in non-life insurance/reinsurance pricing with a focus on Canadian business.
    You hold a Bachelor's Degree with 3 to 5 CAS exams
    You bring along the following experience/profile:
    Understands mathematical and statistical concepts in addition to transactional actuarial pricing theory Exhibits clear communication and good time management skills even under pressure; communicates clearly and succinctly whether in oral or written form; attentive and active listener Identifies that a problem exists and applies critical thinking skills to develop solutions Demonstrates intellectual curiosity to expand knowledge Navigates existing systems and processes to accomplish stated business objectives effectively and efficiently Identifies various macro and micro level views on a topic or situation

    Job Description
    About this job:
    We are looking for a Data Analyst to join our Reporting team. The team supports the whole Non-Life Operations Function operating with worldwide stakeholders particularly on the areas of Reinsurance Accounting, Payment & Collection and Underwriting Operations. The team is currently made up of 3 people based in Paris, Strasbourg, and Toronto. Role will be focusing mainly on understanding, structuring, and controlling the data required to enable analysis as well as populating the various reports and dashboards by the team.
    Specific responsibilities will include:
    Collaborate with Non-Life Operations teams to understand needs and requirements for reporting and analysis, and translate them into production reporting Define the most efficient way of designing, structuring & supplying the data needed for reports and analyses Collect, format, interpret, and analyze data, to design, create and maintain reports and dashboards Communicate findings and insights to stakeholders through presentations and written reports Develop and implement data quality checks to ensure completeness, accuracy and consistency of data Support implementation and testing of the reporting framework Identify opportunities for improvements and automation to increase efficiency and effectiveness of reporting, develop standardized reporting solutions across all locations Provide increased focus on analytics and emphasize on providing valuable insights to drive improvement opportunities within NL Operations Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in reporting and analytics, provide feedback on technology enhancements that could improve reporting
    Qualifications
    About you:
    Critical thinking skills and the ability to understand and manipulate data to provide insightful observations, identify trends and communicate these effectively Good business judgement, an ability to solve complex issues with pragmatic solutions High motivation, team-orientation and adaptability An appetite for creativity and innovation Good listening skills and an ability to gain buy-in from stakeholders with diverse interests Ability to work independently, prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, make timely and informed decisions aligned to the role’s responsibility or to escalate as appropriate to management Qualifications and Experience:
    Experience in data analysis & manipulation, reporting, and business intelligence Experience in programming using Power Query, SQL, Python or similar programming languages Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, BO, Data Virtuality Knowledge of business tools such as SICS and People Soft would be nice to have Knowledge of database design and data warehousing principles such as Snowflake Experience in project management Excellent communication skills, as a key link between IT, operations and business people, be able to adapt its communication to the audience. Experience with a non-life re/insurer would be an asset, or experience gained in a consulting firm.
