We currently have an opportunity for a one year contract position as Human Resources Generalist within HR Department to work in the clinic facility in Scarborough, Ontario. Responsibilities Responsible for on-site Human Resources for Clinic employees Recruitment for the Clinic location New Employee Orientations for Clinic personnel Addressing productivity needs with management for clinic employees On-site resource for any clinic employees’ questions or concerns. Collect documentation from Clinic and send to head office as required. Distribution of documentation to employees or management Lead employee discipline and termination meetings Involved in staff training on issues such workplace sensitivity training, etc. Active member of the JHSC of Health & Safety for the Clinic location, incident tracking and reporting, accident investigations, working with management to eliminate any workplace hazards Work with Clinic management regarding any performance management required. This includes preparation of any documentation, liaising with HR department head, meeting with employees if required, ensuring appropriate records are generated. With the approval of the HR department head, assist managers with performance management or termination meetings with employees. Work to ensure effective communication between members of the HR team, including the HR department head, to ensure all members are aware of current issues and can present a unified front to employees on matters of importance. Maintain privacy of confidential information outside of the HR dept. Back up to other members of the HR team, as required. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in HR or post-graduate certificate in HR 5+ years of progressive HR Generalist experience CHRL Designation preferred. We currently have a need for a Facility and Transportation Assistant to join our Scarborough team! The Facility and Transportation Assistant is responsible for cleaning according to protocols and guidelines at Pharma Medica Research Inc. (PMRI ), interior and exterior maintenance, and transportation of samples and other items between the Clinic and Head Office location and additional deliveries and pickup to and from various locations. This position reports to the Supervisor, Clinic Administration. Duties and Responsibilities Clean and disinfect all areas within the facilities including but not limited to Subject Selection, Screening, Lobbies, Corridors, All Administration Offices, Return Rooms, Check-In Rooms, Shipping & Handling, Storage, Laundry, Washrooms, Showers, Kitchens, All Clinic, and adjoining rooms. Transport pick up or drop off clinic supplies & equipment to and from designated locations. Floor maintenance - sweep, mop, floor polish, auto-scrubber. Carpet maintenance - vacuum spot clean, and steam clean. Move furniture as required. Remove garbage and recycling waste to designated area for disposal. Maintain interior garden and pond. Maintain exterior grounds and perimeter of building for spring/summer/fall season includes grass & shrubs area; mowing the lawn and trimming and pick up garbage. Maintain exterior grounds and perimeter of building for winter season includes snow and ice removal, salting, snowblower and snowplowing driveway and parking lot and pick up garbage. Responsibilities: Assist and advise a group of organic research chemists in developing reaction schemes for the synthesis of drugs and metabolites, as well as for the synthesis of stable label internal standards. Develop cost effective reaction schemes to a group of organic research chemists for the successful completion of organic research projects. Work independently to meet established objectives of synthetic projects. Provide leadership to a group of organic research chemists in developing and exercising additional technical skills. Responsible for writing all synthetic procedures, method development, method revision and synthetic reports suitable for direct submission to regulatory agencies. Responsible for the generation of Certificate of Analysis of organic compounds synthesized at the organic synthesis laboratory of PMRI and for their recertification. Responsible for the purification of organic compounds synthesized in the organic synthesis laboratory. Responsible for providing expertise in the structure elucidation of organic molecules through the use of FT-IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, 2D-NMR, and Mass Spectral data. Possess a sound knowledge of all organic synthesis laboratory equipment such as TLC, HPLC, GC, Column Chromatography, FT-IR, NMR, MS, GC/MS, High Pressure Hydrogenator, microbial biotransformation equipment etc. Has excellent problem-solving skills and demonstrate innovation to improve existing synthetic procedures. Review all organic analytical test results generated by the organic research chemists in the department to ensure compliance with established objectives and to Standard Operating Procedures. Fully understand the requirements of the Generic Pharmaceutical Industry to provide quality service that best fits the customer’s needs. Work in a safe manner, complying with all relevant safety procedures, protocols and SOPs. Exhibit good interpersonal skills, a professional attitude, and motivation to produce consistently high-quality work. Other duties as required. Qualifications: PhD in Organic Chemistry or in a related scientific area or an MSc with at least 1 year related experience. Excellent knowledge of the Generic Pharmaceutical Industry. 3+ years of research experience in an organic synthesis laboratory. Excellent knowledge of SOPs and GLP. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skill. Proficient with the use of computers and software applications. Ability to work both independently and as a team member. This position requires a Scientist with leadership qualities to develop a team of individuals capable of performing R&D of noble synthetic procedures. Scientist must also have the ability to improve current synthetic methods to enhance productivity of the Organic Synthesis Department at PMRI.
