  • Protec Finishing is a well-established metal finishing and electroplating organization serving primarily the automotive industry. The organization operates in the custom zinc and phosphate plating, delivering high quality metal finishing solutions supported by strict environmental controls and ISO certified processes.
    Location of Work: 1820 Bonhill Road, Mississauga, Ontario, L5T 1C4
    Duties and Responsibilities include: Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of workers operating barrel plating lines and metal processing equipment to meet daily customer demands.Establish daily work schedules and determine optimal barrel loading quantities to ensure high quality and production efficiency.Requisition and control material movement and inventory to support daily manufacturing requirements.Monitor, verify, and ensure the accurate record-keeping of production, speed, output, and environmental reports.Resolve operational issues and recommend work measures to improve department productivity, safety, and product quality.Train employees in job duties, operational instructions for processing lines, and safety procedures.Liaise with the Expeditor, Quality Control, and Plant Manager to coordinate the processing of customers' products across departments.Participate in and facilitate shift communication meetings to promote teamwork and positive workplace standards.Recommend personnel or operational improvements through participation in plant Continuous Improvement (CI) projects.Facilitate and ensure compliance with all required safety and environmental training, including WHMIS and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.Address and resolve customer complaints as well as internal quality, spill, and environmental issues.Set up and operate tools and equipment used in the barrel plating process when required.Visually inspect products prior to processing and coordinate with the QC Supervisor regarding non-conformances.Execute work orders as directed by the Plant Manager and temporarily assist or lead other departments as assigned.Skills:Basic verbal and written communication skills.Able to maintain punctual, regular and predictable attendance.Motivated and able to follow instructions of Expeditor / Q.C. Supervisor and Plant Manager.Able to run a production line if the need arises which includes frequent lifting and handling of 15lbs barrel lids and a rake when unloading parts from customer bins into the processing equipment.Able to work in warm to hot, humid environment where chemicals are used for coating / plating of parts.Able to perform basic visual inspection based on standards.Supervision in automotive environment is an asset.
