Position DescriptionReporting to the HR Director, you will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless and efficient operation of the leadership team and key stakeholders. You will work alongside senior leadership to craft policy, establish procedures, curate culture, and clarify strategies to pave a successful path forward for our workforce.
Major Elements of the Role Develop and execute comprehensive HR strategies aligned with organizational objectives, including leading and supporting change management initiatives. Lead end-to-end talent acquisition efforts, encompassing workforce planning, sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding to build high-performing teams. Oversee employee relations, proactively addressing workplace issues, facilitating conflict resolution, and fostering a positive, inclusive, and compliant work environment. Administer payroll documentation and processes, ensuring accurate and timely compensation while monitoring, reconciling, and reporting employee time and attendance records. Ensure ongoing compliance with employment legislation, WSIB requirements, and internal policies through regular audits, policy updates, and best-practice implementation. Deliver workforce analytics, reports, and insights to support informed, data-driven decision-making by leadership. Lead HR process improvement initiatives to streamline workflows, enhance operational efficiency, and improve the overall employee experience. Manage the Health & Safety program, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and internal policies, including workplace inspections, incident investigations, training, and continuous improvement initiatives. Prepare and present HR metrics, trends, and strategic initiatives to senior leadership in a clear, concise, and actionable manner. Act as a trusted advisor to leaders on a broad range of HR matters, including absenteeism management, conflict resolution, terminations, return-to-work accommodations, and performance management. Administer corrective action and performance management processes, coaching managers to ensure fair, consistent, and compliant application. Conduct exit interviews, analyze turnover data and trends, and recommend actionable strategies to improve employee engagement and retention. Manage the full employee benefits lifecycle, including new hire enrollments, life event changes, and timely termination of coverage to ensure accuracy and prevent overpayments. Provide guidance and coordination support on immigration and work permit–related matters, including documentation and application processes, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Qualifications and Skills Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required. 15–20 years of progressive HR leadership experience, including a minimum of ten (10) years in Human Resources; fast food industry experience is required. Professional HR certification (e.g., CHRP, CHRL, or equivalent); immigration-related certifications or formal training are considered a strong asset. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly present complex information to diverse audiences and senior stakeholders. Strong analytical and data interpretation skills to support workforce planning and data-driven decision-making.
