  • Planning Manager  

    - Alberta Beach

    Our client, a medium sized engineering and planning consulting firm, which has operated in Western Canada for almost 50 years, focusing on municipal, land development and transportation engineering, is currently seeking a Planning Manager for their Edmonton office. This is a permanent, full-time role, paying $115k-$150k, or more, depending on experience, plus a competitive benefits and vacation package. This is an ideal role for someone looking for a leadership opportunity that blends technical expertise, business development, project management, and mentorship.
    As Planning Manager, you will be responsible for leading the pursuit and delivery of project work for private and public sector clients. This role will lead the company’s planning work in Edmonton, Calgary and other active regions to advance the company’s overall market position. You will be responsible for building strong client relationships, both internally and externally, and ensuring the company delivers excellent work to clients.
    This position serves both external clients and internal teams as a subject matter expert in planning and real estate development, internal/external representative, and as the company ambassador.
    You will closely collaborate with the President and CEO and other senior leaders in the growth of the company. This role will develop and lead business development plans to secure new opportunities, maintain and grow key clients, attract and retain talent, and uphold our excellent reputation across the Edmonton region and the Province of Alberta.
    This position also requires Senior Planner duties for some projects. Key responsibilities include:Project Leadership, Technical Guidance & Expertise, Project Management, Client Management, Financial Duties, Staff Management, Planning Management
    What You Bring: An urban planning degree or similar.Fully certified RPP, MCIP member with the Canadian Institute of Planners15 plus years of relevant experience.Expertise in subdivision design and land development processes.Familiarity with Alberta municipal approvals in the City of Edmonton, City of Calgary and surrounding municipalities.Proven leadership, communication, and team coordination skills

    - Toronto

    Workplace Design Team Manager
    Our client, a well-established Business Interiors/Office Furniture dealer in York Region is looking to add a Workplace Design Team manager to their team. This is a full-time permanent position and is paying a base salary of $80K - $90k +, depending on experience as well as a competitive benefits and vacation package.
    Job Summary: The Design Manager is responsible for leading the design team in the planning and execution of commercial office furniture layouts and specifications. This role ensures design quality, consistency, and alignment with client objectives while supporting sales and project management teams. The Design Manager also serves as a key liaison between clients, manufacturers, and internal departments, helping drive efficiency, creativity, and customer satisfaction.
    Key Responsibilities: Manage, coach and mentor the design team, assigning tasks, reviewing work, and fostering professional development. Manage workload and projects assignments, prioritization of projects, and design estimates Oversee space planning, furniture layout, finish selections, and specification creation using industry-standard software (AutoCAD, CET Designer etc.). Collaborate with account managers and clients to understand project goals, budget, and timeline. Ensure all drawings and specifications meet client standards, manufacturer requirements Keep current with new software and hardware technology Review and approve final drawings, renderings, and specifications before submission. Participate in client meetings as needed. Develop and maintain design processes and documentation standards. Stay current with furniture trends, workplace strategy, and design best practices. Assist in developing RFP responses, product decisions and content Working alongside Sales focusing on billable hours and selling Design services
    Qualifications: Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field 5+ years of experience in office furniture design; 2+ years in a leadership or management role. Advanced AutoCAD, CET Designer (Configura), and Microsoft Office Suite Strong knowledge of major office furniture lines Excellent communication, organizational, and client-facing skills. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Strong understanding of commercial interiors, space planning, and furniture specifications.
    Work Environment: In-office role with some flexibility Client sites Fast-paced, team-oriented environment
