Job Summary Reporting to the Distribution Manager, the Inventory Control Associate plays a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy, product integrity, and operational efficiency within the warehouse. This position supports business growth by ensuring reliable stock data, proactive problem resolution, and continuous improvement of inventory processes. The role requires a detail-oriented, curious, and solutions-focused mindset, with a strong emphasis on learning, collaboration, and accountability. The ideal candidate embraces change, seeks to understand root causes, and contributes ideas to improve inventory accuracy, workflow efficiency, and overall warehouse performance. Duties and Responsibilities The duties and responsibilities of the Inventory Control Associate include, but are not limited to, the following: Inventory Accuracy & Control • Perform regular cycle counts and inventory audits to ensure alignment between physical inventory and system records. • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, including missing, damaged, or misplaced products, identifying root causes and corrective actions. • Accurately record inventory movements, adjustments, and write-offs in the warehouse management system. Return & Ajustements Management • Process returned merchandise by inspecting product condition and determining appropriate disposition (restock, vendor return, or disposal). • Manage inventory adjustments for non-returned items (e.g., refunded but not physically returned products), ensuring accurate stock reconciliation. • Handle vendor-related discrepancies, including processing write-offs and creating purchase return orders for damaged, expired, or non-compliant inbound products. Product Lifecycle Management • Monitor and manage expiring products, coordinating timely removal, relocation, redistribution, markdowns, or disposal to minimize inventory losses. • Manage discontinued and obsolete items by identifying, removing, and processing stock according to company guidelines. • Assist with onboarding new products, including inventory setup, location placement, and system accuracy. Organization & Warehouse Support • Maintain organized shelving and accurate product placement to ensure inventory is accessible, traceable, and properly located. • Keep inventory and returns areas clean, organized, and audit-ready to support efficient warehouse operations. • Support general warehouse activities, including product handling, stock movement, and operational support as needed. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement • Collaborate closely with warehouse operations, customer service, and leadership teams to resolve inventory- and return-related issues. • Proactively identify improvement opportunities in inventory processes, documentation, and system usage. • Demonstrate a growth mindset by learning new tools, adapting to changes, and contributing to process optimization initiatives. • Other duties as assigned. Skills and Requirements • 2+ years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or logistics. • Post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain, or a related field is considered an asset. • Strong ability to interpret inventory and operational data to identify discrepancies, trends, and root causes, supporting informed, data-driven decision making. • High attention to detail, with proven analytical and problem-solving skills. • Comfortable working with inventory management systems / warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic reporting tools. • Experience with SAP is considered an asset. • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment. • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative and team-oriented approach. • Physically able to perform warehouse duties as required. • Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety standards and procedures. Compensation The expected salary for this position is between $48,000-$53,000. *The total compensation may vary depending on the candidate’s skills, experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors. Additional Information This posting is for a new role. The position is based out of Ren’s Pets Distribution Centers in Brantford and Puslinch, Ontario, and requires occasional travel between these locations. Visit us for more information at www.renspets.com! The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst plays a key role in driving financial performance and strategic decision-making at Ren’s Pets. Reporting to the Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis, this position partners with cross-functional leaders to deliver insightful analysis, support the budgeting and forecasting cycles, and provide management reporting that informs how we grow our business. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, intellectually curious, and thrives in a fast-paced retail and e-commerce environment. Duties and Responsibilities Under the supervision of the Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis, the duties and responsibilities of the FP&A Analyst include, but are not limited to, the following: • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including variance analysis against budget and forecast • Support the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts in partnership with department leaders across stores, e-commerce, marketing, and category management • Analyze sales, margin, and expense trends to identify opportunities and risks, and translate findings into clear recommendations • Support promotional optimization by analyzing campaign performance, ROI, and pricing strategies to inform future promotional planning • Develop dashboards and KPI reporting to support executive and operational decision-making • Own month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries, provisions, and accruals, and performing balance sheet reviews and analysis • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and modeling support for senior leadership and business partners • Continuously improve reporting processes, automation, and data quality • Other duties as assigned. Skills and Effort Requirements • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into clear, actionable insights • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and scenario modeling • Experience working with ERP systems and BI/reporting tools (e.g. SAP, Power BI, Tableau) is considered an asset • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial insights to non-finance stakeholders • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional environment • A continuous improvement mindset, intellectual curiosity, and a passion for using data to drive better decisions Minimum Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field • 2-4 years of progressive experience in an FP&A team, ideally within retail, e-commerce, or FMCG/consumer products • Solid understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and budgeting/forecasting methodologies • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills • Progress toward a CPA, CFA, or MBA designation is considered an asset • Legally authorized to work in Canada This position is based in the Ren’s Pets home office located in Puslinch, Ontario, with a requirement to work in the office 2-3 days per week and flexibility to work from home. Compensation • The expected salary for this position is between $80,000-$91,000. *The total compensation may vary depending on the candidate’s skills, experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors.
