The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is seeking a Family Physician to provide primary and long term care services in the Hafford Special Care Centre and Primary Care site located in the Town of Hafford. The scope of practice includes the option of providing 2-3 days of regular clinic hours weekly, and provide LTC phone consultations 24 hours per day, seven days per week.
Hafford is on Highway 40 in the southwest corner of the North West area of the SHA. It is approximately 145 kilometres from Prince Albert, and 70 kilometres from North Battleford. The Hafford Special Care Centre and Primary Care site include a range of community-based and allied health care services, which includes Home Care, Public Health, Dietician services as well as Therapies. We are seeking a team‑oriented and highly skilled general urologist to provide locum coverage in Regina, Saskatchewan. This position has the potential to transition into a permanent full‑time role.
Remuneration is competitive for this locum and is based on a daily rate of $2,417.00. The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) will cover the cost of flights, car rental and temporary accommodations.
Operating Room (OR) and procedural time (e.g., cystoscopy, ambulatory care, etc.) would be available depending on patient needs and the duration of the locum. OR access for urgent or emergent clinical conditions would be available per our after‑hours OR usage rules. The program is complemented with a high‑quality anesthesiology program and a day surgery unit which has extended hours for patient recovery.
The arriving specialist would share in a minimum of a 1 in 5 call rotation. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate experience and training in Urology, appropriate for an academic tertiary care level referral centre. The candidate will be expected to show evidence of interpersonal and collaborative skills with initiatives to further advance the clinical and academic productivity of the SHA. Commitment and demonstrated interest in research and surgical education at all levels are expected.
Call coverage is a requirement for the position. In addition to a daily rate in an alternate payment arrangement, you would be eligible for any on‑call retainer consistent with the Specialist Emergency Coverage Program.
Job Qualifications
The ideal candidate will hold certification or be eligible for certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Urology.
This individual should be a team player, be able to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, staff and management, and function well in a high‑volume environment with a commitment to the provision of high‑quality patient and family‑centered care.
Candidates must be eligible for provisional or regular licensure through the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan.
