Working within the head office's preconstruction department, you will lead and oversee diverse projects throughout the pursuit, preconstruction, and construction phases. Leveraging advanced BIM techniques, the role focuses on facilitating project management and enhancing planning. The position emphasizes continuous professional development, having a proven track record of developing industry-leading experts in both BIM and project management roles.Key Responsibilities:Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during the design and preconstruction phases.Chair preconstruction meetings with clients and consultants to understand project requirements and optimize preconstruction processes related to project scheduling, budgeting, and logistics.Read, interpret, and maintain project schedules during the design and preconstruction phase of projects using MS Project.Utilize BIM/VDC tools and platforms for coordination, constructability reviews, planning, site logistics, and virtual reality.Plan and develop 2D/3D logistics, construction phasing, and sequencing drawings using Revit.Complete BIM-based quantity take-offs from 3D models and 2D drawings; analyze and manipulate data as needed.Prepare 4D simulations to aid in project visualization and planning.Review drawings and specification documents, detect deficiencies (ex. miscoordination or missing information), and issue RFIs to the consultants.Perform 3D coordination/clash detection and chair coordination meetings.Support procurement and tendering processes.Organize and lead the transition/internal handoff meeting between the preconstruction and construction team.Perform other duties as required.Required Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, and Experience:Minimum post-secondary degree/diploma in construction (i.e. Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Architectural, etc.) or equivalent.Minimum of 5 years’ construction experience.Excellent comprehension of Mechanical, Electrical, Architectural, and Structural Drawings.Ability to establish and maintain high levels of communication, interaction, and written skills.Advanced proficiency in Revit.Experience with clash detection software is an asset.Willingness/adaptability to learn new skills and software packages to meet project needs.Able to perform well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.Exceptional attention to detail.Reliable, responsive, and positive work ethic.Type: Permanent Full-TimeJob location: Mississauga, ONTraveling required: To Head Office or SiteSKYGRiD is committed to building a diverse workforce representative of the communities we serve.
