The candidate will own the onboarding and training experience for all new hires across the three franchises, ensuring consistent integration, certification, and cultural alignment with Smith+Neuhew’s standards of excellence. Location: Mississauga, Ontario (office based three days per week). Training Delivery & Field Coaching Plan, coordinate, and deliver comprehensive training programs for both new and tenured sales professionals across all three business franchises. Facilitate learning through diverse methods including classroom instruction, virtual sessions, field‑based coaching, and on‑the‑job training. Certify sales representatives on required competencies including product knowledge, procedural expertise, competitive differentiation, and selling methodologies. Conduct field ride‑alongs (20% of time) to assess and reinforce application of clinical, procedural, and sales enablement skills. Deliver training content aligned with the Global Commercial Training & Education competency framework and ensure consistent execution of the Smith+Neuhew selling process. Maintain accurate training documentation and progress tracking through the Learning Unlimited platform and CRM tools. Onboarding & Development Lead and coordinate the full onboarding process for new sales hires across Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, and Advanced Wound Management in Canada. Partner with HR, Sales Leadership, and Global Training to ensure a structured, engaging, and impactful onboarding journey that accelerates time‑to‑performance. Evaluate onboarding effectiveness and make continuous improvements to program design and delivery. Coaching & Performance Enablement Act as a mentor and role model for the salesforce and field managers, cultivating a culture of continuous learning and coaching excellence. Collaborate with managers to identify performance gaps and co‑develop individual development plans. Establish governance and tracking metrics to measure coaching impact and learning outcomes. Strategic Training Planning & Collaboration Conduct ongoing training needs assessments in partnership with Commercial Leaders, Marketing, and Clinical teams to align training with business priorities. Develop annual and quarterly training plans to support corporate strategies and growth objectives. Collaborate with Global/US CT+E partners to leverage corporate training resources and maximize learning efficiency. Represent the Canadian CT+E function in leadership meetings, sharing progress reports, ROI metrics, and strategic recommendations. Support the utilization and continuous improvement of the Customer Experience & Innovation Lab for hands‑on training and product demonstrations. What You’ll Need to Be Successful Dynamic and engaging public speaker with excellent facilitation and presentation skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and inspire others. Creative thinker with experience designing branded or instructional content. Highly organized, process‑oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proactive, self‑motivated, and capable of working independently. Strong understanding of sales effectiveness principles, adult learning methodologies, and coaching frameworks. Education & Certifications Bachelor’s degree required. Bilingual (English proficiency required; French proficiency strongly preferred). Certifications in adult learning, facilitation, or coaching (e.g., Langevin Learning, Bob Pike, Train‑the‑Trainer, Challenger, Lane 4) are an asset. Project management and/or instructional design certifications are a plus. Experience 3–7 years’ experience in commercial, training, or marketing roles within the medical device or healthcare industry (preferably with Smith+Neuhew or similar organizations). Proven success in sales training delivery, field coaching, or commercial enablement roles. In‑depth understanding of sales processes, medical device markets, and customer engagement dynamics.
