    Registered Early Childhood Educators or equivalent (Child and Youth Worker or OCT Member)

    for a

    Team Lead Position

    in

    Barrie

    at the following location:

    Johnston Street PS.

    This position is to fill an existing vacancy.

    Pay Range:

    RECE or Equivalent: $26.07 - $29.79/hour

    plus Wage Enhancement Grant

    (up to $2.00/hr) , Split Shift Premium

    ($2.00/hr)

    & Team Lead Premium Pay.

    *Candidates must be available to work a split shift in a before and after school program.

    Position Type & Required Availability:

    Full-time Split Shift Position (33.75 hours/week):

    Candidates must be available to work a split-shift (morning and afternoon) in our Before & After School programs Monday-Friday to be considered.

    Position Summary The Team Lead is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Before & After school program. Delivers a developmentally appropriate, inquiry/play based program while ensuring compliance with all internal and external guidelines, policies & procedures. Serves as a source of information to parents, community partners, and coworkers. Supports the organization's vision, mission & guiding values. This is a fully in-centre position.

    Job Responsibilities

    Participates in professional development opportunities, staff meetings and training sessions as required.

    Engages with the children and provides a positive learning experience. Provides a range of care including assisting with meals/snacks, toileting, dressing, etc.

    Models expectations for other employees, volunteers and student teachers from colleges, universities, secondary schools, etc.

    Fosters the engagement of and ongoing communication with parents about the program and their children. Attends parent and community meetings as needed.

    Uses Storypark for pedagogical documentation as a guide for program development.

    Identifies children in need of additional support. Guides parents through the process of accessing resources. Helps design and implement individual support plans as required.

    Effectively collaborates and communicates with other employees, school personnel and outside agencies to help support the needs of all children.

    Participates in health and safety initiatives as required in compliance with Occupational Health & Safety.

    Plans, leads and documents team meetings as required.

    Consistently advises the Leadership team of any information pertaining to family, school, and staffing issues. Reports any supplies and/or equipment deficiencies.

    Assists supervisor with publications of parent and community communications

    Ensures timely and accurate completion of administrative tasks

    Orders/purchases food and other program supplies; shopping at local stores may be required.

    Participates in special events, centre tours, and helps plan for field trips.

    Helps with general housekeeping and classroom duties. May be asked to occasionally fill in as cook (job description to be provided)

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE); or approved equivalency, from a recognized college or university.

    Working knowledge of child care early years act (CCEYA) is an asset.

    At least 18 years of age or older due to licensing requirements.

    Health assessment and record of immunization, as outlined by legislation.

    Up-to-date registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators (if applicable).

    Up-to-date certification in CPR-C and standard first aid (training provided upon selection if required).

    Computer proficiency, including Microsoft 365, Intranet, Dayforce, and Storypark.
