  • Varsteel Calgary is looking for a Shipper/Receiver Associate Please Apply at https://www.varsteel.ca/employment Please DO NOT apply through Kijiji As a Shipper/Receiver for Varsteel, you’ll play a vital role in our Shipping, Receiving and Inventory Department managing outgoing shipments, receiving of incoming products and maintaining accurate inventory. The selected candidate will be responsible for the processing of Incoming and outgoing shipments, administration of documents, communications, and ensuring that all items are counted for accuracy and outgoing shipping documentation is completed for a timely delivery, while assisting in all aspects of the Shipping, Receiving, and Inventory Department. This position is intended to support daily branch operations, especially during periods of increased demand. The responsibilities of the Shipper/Receiver Associate include, but are not limited to: • Preparing paperwork for shipments, efficiently and accurately process, allocate and ship all customer orders and branch transfers. Ensuring all orders are complete, on time and comply with shipping standards for varying sizes, quantities. • Print, review and check all shipping documents for all Shipments checking for accuracy, such as product, size, length, and total pieces. • Process or issues manual Bill of lading (if needed) all necessary paperwork including the preparation of instructions for transportation documents, Mill Certificates, price copies, and any other shipping documentation associated with each shipment. • Ensures order accuracy through correct picking, tagging, and verification. • Resolve any documents discrepancy or clarifications with salesperson and or management prior to invoicing • Provide assistance with all aspects of branch operations to resolve issues, including order entry, allocation and shipping, tracking and potential errors in delivery and billing. • Receive Inventory, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of inventory received, verify quantities, information, as well as completing and confirming all accompanying paperwork. • Conduct regular inventory counts to ensure accuracy of Inventory and maintain precise records in the inventory management system. • Perform a thorough inspection of products that are deemed as damage or variance from product specification and purchase order. • Perform follow-up procedures on orders and report damages, shortages and discrepancies • Receive returns, count and confirm quantities, determine condition and complete paperwork. • Understanding the importance of productivity and efficiency in the workplace • Achieving optimal productivity through promoting open communication across all departments • Communicating any issues, questions or concerns clearly and in a timely manner to supervisors/managers. • All other duties assigned or pertaining to Receiving, Inventory & Shipping Department.
