  • Senior Technical Product Manager

    - Toronto

About Us We exist to modernize the way that vendors and property managers work together. We do this by building a complete vendor lifecycle management solution, purpose-built for the world of commercial real estate. Today, over 10,000 buildings and 70,000 vendors rely on VendorPM for credentialing, tendering, and contract management. We drive serious efficiency and cost savings for property managers, while unlocking growth opportunities for vendors across North America.

We’re one of Toronto’s fastest-growing startups, a certified “Great Place to Work,” and recognized in 2023, 2024 and 2025 as one of the Best Workplaces in Canada. Backed by world-class SaaS and PropTech —investors-Bessemer Venture Partners, the former CEO of Twitter, Prudence VC, and Navitas Capital— we’re just getting started.

Our team is scrappy, resourceful, and laser-focused on impact. If you’re someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, loves turning ideas into action, and wants to grow alongside the business you’re helping build, we want to hear from you.

The Role The Senior Technical Product Manager will help drive and execute on the technical product strategy for VendorPM's core platform and AI‑powered vendor solutions. You'll own the intersection of complex technical systems and business outcomes, working across engineering, data, and sales teams to ship features that modernize how property managers work with vendors.

This is not a role for someone who wants to write requirements and hand them off. You'll dig into database schemas, debug API integrations, and partner directly with engineers to solve hard problems. You'll bring structure to ambiguity, turning strategic priorities into executable plans while maintaining the flexibility to pivot when you learn something new.

We're building technical products in a regulated, relationship-driven industry. You'll need genuine curiosity about how AI models/LLMs, data pipelines, and vendor compliance systems actually work—not just what they do. We also expect you to actively use AI tools in your own workflow. If you're not already experimenting with Cursor, Claude, or similar tools to accelerate your work, this probably isn't the right fit.

What you’ll be doing Technical Strategy & Systems Thinking

Own product areas spanning vendor data infrastructure, AI‑powered pricing/benchmarking, and compliance management systems

Define technical requirements that account for data dependencies, integration constraints, and architectural trade-offs

Translate business objectives into technical roadmaps with clear dependencies and milestones

    Execution & Cross-Functional Delivery

Drive features from discovery through launch, partnering with engineering to scope work accurately and identify technical risks early

Build and maintain evaluation frameworks for AI features—you'll define what "good" looks like and how we measure it

Own cross‑functional coordination across engineering, design, data, and GTM for your product areas

Establish and improve product development processes that enable accountability without bureaucracy

Create visibility into progress through documentation, roadmap management, and stakeholder communication

Work directly with external partners and data sources, navigating integration complexity and compliance requirements

    AI-Driven Product Process

Evolve how we build products using AI tools—from discovery and documentation to prototyping and validation

Experiment with and operationalize LLM-based workflows, MCP integrations, and AI coding assistants (Cursor, Lovable, etc.) to accelerate the product development lifecycle

Define when AI‑assisted approaches add value versus when they don't, building team intuition through experimentation

Stay current on emerging AI tooling and bring relevant innovations back to the team

What You'll Work On You’ll own product areas that lay the foundation for agentic procurement—a future where AI handles routine vendor management tasks end‑to‑end while property managers focus on relationships and exceptions.

Near-Term Roadmap Vendor data infrastructure and schema design, AI‑powered pricing and benchmarking, vendor search and matching algorithms, compliance management systems, and role‑based access control.

Data & Systems You’ll help establish how data flows into, through, and out of the platform—cleaning up pipelines, building reporting infrastructure, and extending data access to teams that need it. This includes standing up BI dashboards for Sales, enabling self‑serve analytics for internal stakeholders, and ensuring data quality supports both product decisions and customer‑facing features.

Agentic Procurement Designing AI systems and agents to alleviate customer pain points, helping drive data architecture that enables reliable AI decision‑making, and defining human‑in‑the‑loop patterns that balance automation with appropriate oversight.

What We Value Intensity & Rigor You operate at high energy with meticulous attention to detail. You think through edge cases before they become production issues. Your PRDs are tight, your tickets are unambiguous, and your stakeholder updates are crisp. You hold yourself to a high standard and it shows in the quality of your work.

Default to Curiosity You're excited by tough problems, not intimidated by them. When you hit a wall, your instinct is "yes, and" rather than "no, because." You ask questions until you understand how systems actually work—not just what they're supposed to do. You're solution‑focused and energized by the puzzle of making complex things simple.

Extreme Ownership Problems are yours to solve, full stop. You don't wait for permission or point fingers when things break. If something is blocking progress, you find a way around it. If a decision needs to be made, you make it and own the outcome. If you learn new information, you course‑correct quickly.

    What we are looking for

5+ years in product management, with at least 2 years in technically complex environments (APIs, data systems, AI/ML features)

Demonstrated ability to dive into technical details - you've read API docs, written SQL queries, or debugged integration issues alongside engineers

Track record of shipping AI‑powered or data‑intensive products, with experience defining success metrics and evaluation approaches

Deep knowledge of Jira: You've configured workflows, managed complex backlogs, built dashboards, and used advanced features (automation rules, custom fields, JQL) to create visibility and drive execution

Active experimentation with AI development tools: You use LLMs in your daily workflow and have hands‑on experience with tools like Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, Lovable, or similar - you understand their capabilities and limitations

Fluency in databases and BI tools: You're comfortable writing queries, building dashboards, and setting up reports in tools like Metabase, Sigma, Heap, Looker, or similar—you don't wait for a data team to answer your questions

Strong documentation discipline: Experience writing comprehensive PRDs, technical specs, and process documentation in Notion, Confluence, or similar systems—you believe good documentation is a competitive advantage

Strong systems thinking: you naturally see dependencies, feedback loops, and second‑order effects

Proven ability to collaborate across engineering, design, data, and business stakeholders

Comfort with ambiguity and rapid iteration—you make decisions with incomplete information and adjust as you learn

    What’s In It For You

In‑Person, High‑Energy Environment: Our downtown Toronto office is a hub of collaboration, focus, and innovation. We are a hybrid company because we believe the best work happens when brilliant minds come together.

Join a team of high‑caliber, like‑minded professionals who take pride in their work and push each other to achieve the seemingly impossible.

We are relentless in our pursuit of success. If you thrive in an environment where hard work, determination, and deep domain expertise are celebrated, you’ll love it here.

3 weeks vacation, 8 wellness days to recharge, Benefits, Equity, Employer top‑up for maternity and parental leave, company and team socials

We are growing fast, and this is your chance to grow with us. The work you do here will have real impact on the industry and your career trajectory.

    Bonus if you have

Experience in PropTech, construction, and/or B2B marketplaces

Background in vendor management, compliance systems, or multi‑sided platforms

Familiarity with LLM‑based products, RAG systems, or context engineering

Familiarity/recent experience driving AI evaluations in partnership with data/engineering teams

Hands‑on experience with rapid prototyping tools (Lovable, v0, Bolt) for validation

Experience with enterprise sales cycles and complex customer environments

Startup experience, particularly in companies navigating product‑market fit

Interview Process We want to be a surprising and exciting place, but we also want you to know what to expect on your journey, starting with the interview process:

Interview Process Step 1: Google Meets exploratory call with HR.

Interview Process Step 2: Interview with Co‑Founder, COO

    Interview Process Step 3: Assignment

Interview Process Step 4: Presentation to Panel – Co‑Founder, COO & other stakeholders

  • Vice President of Engineering

    - Toronto

    The Role

The Vice President of Engineering will partner with the founders and product leadership to build the engineering organization that takes VendorPM to its next stage of growth. You'll report directly to the COO and own technical architecture, engineering culture, and delivery execution. We've moved fast and hit our growth stride with signed enterprise customers, and built a platform that 10,000+ buildings and 70,000 vendors depend on daily. That speed created a strong foundation—and also the kind of technical and process debt you'd expect from a company that prioritized shipping over polish. Now we need a leader who can build the engineering maturity and discipline to support the next phase: larger customers, more complex requirements, and a product vision centered on agentic procurement. This is a hands‑on leadership role. You'll update code standards, make architectural decisions you can defend technically, and work directly with engineers to solve hard problems. But you'll also shape the longer‑term vision—building toward AI systems that handle routine vendor management tasks end‑to‑end while making nuanced judgment calls about when to pay down debt, when to refactor, and when to ship. You’ll join a company with strong product leadership, a clear strategic direction, and founders who are deeply involved in the business. What we need is an engineering leader who can match that clarity on the technical side—someone who can build a culture of ownership, quality, and velocity that scales with us. We expect you to be hands‑on with AI tooling. If you're not already using Cursor, Claude, or similar tools to accelerate your own work and thinking about how AI changes engineering team productivity, this isn't the right fit. What we are looking for

Deep experience (10‑15 years) building or significantly improving an engineering organization—you've shaped culture and process, not just inherited a working machine Deep technical fluency with modern web architectures—you've built and scaled systems on AWS/GCP with Node.js/TypeScript, GraphQL, React, and PostgreSQL Track record of improving engineering delivery predictability and quality while maintaining team morale and velocity Hands‑on leadership style—you stay close to the code and can contribute technically when needed Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into production systems Comfort with ambiguity and competing priorities: you've worked in startups or growth‑stage companies where judgment matters more than playbooks Strong opinions on engineering culture and process, informed by experience with what actually works What you’ll be doing

    Technical Leadership

Own architectural decisions across our platform—you’ll need to understand our NestJS/PostgreSQL/Apollo GraphQL/React stack deeply enough to guide its evolution and make build‑vs‑buy decisions Drive the technical strategy for AI integration, including evaluating when to extend our TypeScript stack versus introducing Python or other languages better suited for AI/ML and data‑intensive workloads Make nuanced tradeoffs between paying down technical debt and shipping features—and build team judgment for making these calls well Building Engineering Culture

Lead a team of ~10 engineers and set the bar for what great engineering looks like at VendorPM—we believe strong engineering culture is built through in‑person collaboration, whiteboarding sessions, and solving hard problems together Shift team structure and processes toward true full‑stack ownership, moving away from rigid frontend/backend distinctions that create handoff friction and limit engineer growth Build processes that create accountability and visibility without bureaucracy—sprint planning, estimation, and delivery tracking that enable engineers to own outcomes, not just tasks AI‑Forward Development & QA Practice

Establish practices for AI‑assisted development across the engineering team—we expect engineers to leverage tools like Cursor, Claude, and Copilot to accelerate their work Build QA and testing approaches that account for AI‑generated code: review practices, test coverage expectations, and quality gates that maintain standards while capturing productivity gains Evaluate and integrate AI tooling into CI/CD, code review, and documentation workflows where it adds genuine value Delivery & Execution

Own engineering delivery against product roadmap commitments with realistic estimation and clear communication when plans change Partner with Product on technical discovery to identify architectural prerequisites and risks before work enters sprints Build the muscle for shipping reliably—we want a team that hits its commitments and knows how to scope appropriately What You’ll Work On

    Near‑Term (Q1‑Q2 2026)

Compliance system evolution: Our compliance domain is central to the product and needs architectural improvement to support building‑specific requirements and clearer data models Role‑based access control (RBAC): Solution is designed and ready for execution—needs engineering leadership to ship well Vendor data model improvements: Evolve our vendor data model to support the complexity of how enterprise PMCs categorize and manage vendors Engineering process foundations: Implement sprint planning, backlog management, and delivery practices that create predictable output Medium‑Term

AI infrastructure: Extend our AI assistant capabilities, improve document parsing accuracy, and build the foundation for agentic procurement features Integration platform: Build robust patterns for ERP integrations (Yardi, MRI) that scale across customers Platform scalability: Address performance and architecture needs as we grow into larger enterprise deployments The Bigger Picture

You’ll help build toward agentic procurement—a future where AI handles routine vendor management tasks end‑to‑end while property managers focus on relationships and exceptions. That vision requires thoughtful architectural decisions today, and an engineering organization capable of building sophisticated AI‑powered features reliably. What We Value

    Intensity & Rigor

You operate at high energy with meticulous attention to detail. You think through edge cases before they become production issues. Your architectural decisions are defensible, your code reviews are thorough, and your team communications are crisp. You hold yourself to a high standard and it shows in the quality of what your team ships. Default to Curiosity

You’re excited by tough problems, not intimidated by them. When you hit a wall, your instinct is \"yes, and\" rather than \"no, because\". You dig into systems until you understand how they actually work—not just what they’re supposed to do. You’re energized by the puzzle of making complex things simple and you build teams that think the same way. Extreme Ownership

Problems are yours to solve, full stop. You don’t wait for permission or point fingers when things break. If something is blocking progress, you find a way around it. If a decision needs to be made, you make it and own the outcome. If you learn new information, you course‑correct quickly—and you build a team culture where everyone operates the same way. Bonus If You Have

Experience in PropTech, real estate, or B2B marketplaces Background with compliance systems, credentialing, or multi‑sided platforms Hands‑on experience with LLM‑based features, RAG systems, or AI agents in production Experience building hybrid TypeScript/Python architectures for AI‑intensive applications Experience preparing engineering organizations for significant scale or exit What's In It For You

Equity – Meaningful ownership in what you help build Comprehensive health benefits, including dental, vision, and life insurance In‑Person, High‑Energy Environment: Our downtown Toronto office is where the work happens. We’re an in‑person company because we believe the best engineering culture is built through real‑time collaboration—whiteboarding, pair programming, and solving hard problems together. 4 weeks vacation + wellness days Employer top‑up for maternity and parental leave Regular team events and a close‑knit culture Interview Process

We want to be a surprising and exciting place. But we also want you to know what to expect on your journey, starting with the interview process. Here’s what getting to know us will look like: Interview process step 1: Google Meets call with Recruiter Interview process step 2: Interview with the Hiring Manager Interview process step 3: Technical Interview with Product Consultant Interview process step 4: Take home assignment Interview process step 5: In office meet the team Notes
