This role provides strategic direction and leadership for tax functions, delivering tax strategies while leading a team of tax professionals across various specialized areas.
What you'll do
This role establishes the overall direction and strategic initiatives for tax compliance, controversy, planning, business projects, and legislative impacts. The role may involve influencing decision‑making and critical thinking in a complex legislative landscape with significant organizational impact. The role includes developing a strong tax group through mentoring, coaching, and supervision to enable continuous development of in‑house tax expertise. Motivating, developing, and managing a team of tax professionals may also be involved, ensuring talent development through challenging learning opportunities to foster professional growth. Responsible for maximizing value by proactively managing tax provision and reporting processes, this role aims to minimize the effective tax rate, cash tax liability, and ensure tax‑efficient movement of cash and tax compliance. Ensuring compliance with all relevant tax regulations while working to minimize tax liability and maximize after‑tax profits is crucial. The role may also involve approving transactions, business initiatives, and tax strategies to mitigate overall tax risk and liabilities. Ensuring adherence to legislative policies to maintain an effective compliance control environment is essential. Partnering with various functional areas to improve business processes and optimize tax reporting compliance obligations may also be required.
