The General Labourer Maintenance Tech will be a highly self-motivated, customer-centric, safety conscience team player with good attendance, whom will perform battery changing, preventative maintenance on equipment, machinery, structures, grounds, and assists Skilled Maintenance Personnel. This technician will have the opportunity train as an apprentice to the maintenance team and could potentially transition into maintenance if the proper skillsets are learned/achieved. Shift: Monday - Friday Day Shift What you will do: Operates battery changing station, conducting the removal and replacement of lift batteries while adhering to all OSHA & Wayfair safety policies and procedures Disposes of Hazardous Materials in accordance with established OSHA procedures Conducts daily/weekly Preventative Maintenance and completes daily log sheet Performs pre-operation checklist and verifies all safety devices are functional at all times Utilizes and maintains the proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) Charge, clean, and inspect batteries for production equipment Checks and maintains water levels in batteries Monitors battery charger status, battery cable insulation and connectors, reporting necessary repairs to maintenance Maintains a clean and safe work area Operates floor sweeper / scrubber to maintain facility floor Paints, plasters, and performs general building maintenance functions including plumbing and carpentry to maintain facility Assist Maintenance Technicians with installation, repair and preventive maintenance on equipment and facilities Performs all job-related duties as directed by Manager/Supervisor Completes work assignments, work orders, records, logs and other written or computer-based documents Develop and maintain a good working relationship across all levels in the organization Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity What you will need: High School Diploma or Equivalent Ability to work all days and shifts, overtime, and holidays.
