ASL Tutor Inclusion Support Services (Various Locations)
This position involves developing the ASL skills of Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in the Winnipeg School Division. The position also includes acting as an adult Deaf role model and exposing students to aspects of Deaf Culture. The ASL Tutor schedule is coordinated by the Support Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, through Inclusion Support Services.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Visiting a variety of Winnipeg School Division schools on a regularly scheduled basis to work with Deaf/Hard of students in K to Grade 12 who are using ASL Working with students individually or in small groups in class or out of class for a period of 30-60 minutes (as determined by the school) Instructing students in ASL, e.g., vocabulary, facial expression. non-manual markers. classifiers, attention getting techniques, topicalization, grammar rules etc. This may be done through class work and specific ASL lessons or activities Consulting with the Teacher of the Deaf and classroom teacher to establish instructional goals based on formal and informal assessments and observations Preparing lessons and materials in advance for use with the Deaf/hard of hearing students Maintaining records of students' progress in ASL skills attainment Sharing information regarding the student's progress in ASL with the school team via written lesson/progress logs and via participation in meetings as requested sharing information on Deaf culture being a positive role model for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing students

Service Desk & Desktop TechnicianMGEU IT Services provides technology support and services to all students and staff in the Division related all hardware and software used by staff and students in the division. The IT Service Desk and Desktop Support team functions as part of IT Services and provides support related to all end user devices, all computer peripherals, all software installations, and other duties as assigned. Under the supervision and direction of the Supervisor, Technical Services, the Service Desk & Desktop Technician Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Operational Management · Provide first contact support of incoming requests to the service desk via telephone, web portal, email, and chat to ensure courteous, timely, and effective resolution of end-user issues. · Build rapport and elicit problem details from service desk customers. · Prioritize incidents and service requests according to defined processes to meet defined SLAs. · Escalate incidents with accurate documentation to suitable technician, when required. · Record, track, and document the service desk incident-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made and actions taken, through to final resolution. · Use remote tools and diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting. · Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level when remote tools are not appropriate, including hardware repairs, delivery of peripherals, or other fixes as determined. · Research solutions through internal and external knowledgebase as needed. · Identify and learn appropriate software and hardware used and supported by the organization. · Develop help sheets and FAQ lists for end users. · Contribute to technician knowledgebase as needed. · Escalate incidents with accurate documentation to suitable technician or vendor, when required. · Record, track, and document the service desk incident-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made and actions taken, through to final resolution. · Test fixes to ensure problem has been adequately resolved. · Provide suggestions for continual improvement. · Perform onsite analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex computer problems for end users, and recommend and implement corrective solutions, including offsite repair for remote users as needed. · Accurately document instances of equipment failure, repair installation and removal, as well as moves and changes. · Record and manage equipment sent to repair depots for equipment under warranty or service contracts. · Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end-user workstations and related hardware and software to deliver required deskside service levels. · Collaborate with IT Operations staff to ensure efficient operation of the company’s end-user computing environment. · Answer to and perform moves, adds, and changes (MAC) requests as required. · Responsible for all issues from the wall jack to the desktop, including all computer peripherals. If necessary, liaise with third-party support and equipment vendors.
Qualifications: Formal Education & Certification · College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 3 years equivalent work experience. · Certifications in CompTIA+ or ITIL are considered an asset. Food Coordinator - 4.0 hours per day Under the direction of the Principal and/or designate and the divisional Nutrition Program Coordinator, the food coordinator is responsible for implementing the school's nutrition programming. This includes preparing breakfast, lunch and/or snack. It also includes maintaining kitchen spaces and food storage areas in compliance with safe food handling practices. Other duties include ordering food and supplies, inventory management, maintaining accurate records, and compiling program data for reporting. The food coordinator is expected to prepare high quality, nutritious foods in accordance with Canada's Food Guide, Manitoba's Healthy Food in Schools policy, and the new National School Food Policy. The successful candidate will value and uphold rigorous food safety standards while receiving, preparing, and serving food, as well as when maintaining nutrition spaces. . Duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Prepare meals for breakfast, lunch and snack. Set menus for breakfast, lunch and snack with support from the divisional nutrition programming coordinator and Child Nutrition Council of Manitoba. Maintain nutrition facilities such as kitchens, food and supply storage areas and eating rooms daily in accordance with public health guidelines for food handling establishments. Manage food and supply ordering and receive and verify deliveries in accordance with safe food handling procedures. Plan purchases within set budgets, track program expenses incurred throughout school year, and maintain food and supply purchasing records. Engage continually with children and youth to ensure meals reflect the diversity of preferences, requirements and cultural backgrounds within schools. Maintain records of meals and number of children served each day as well as qualitative feedback from children, youth and parents about meals served at school. Monitor students during food programming for safe behaviour and conduct during mealtimes (if applicable). Other duties as assigned.
