    Your Impact Starts Here Step into a leadership role where your expertise shapes Canada’s most complex energy and heavy industrial projects. Reporting to the Vice President of Nuclear, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our ERI nuclear portfolio and advancing client success.

    This role can be based out of one of our Ontario offices, with project-related travel to Tiverton, Toronto, Pickering, Oshawa (Ontario) and Saint John (New Brunswick), as required.

    Your Impact

    You will lead and manage a team of professionals, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluation;

    You will provide technical guidance as appropriate and be accountable for the technical work undertaken by the team;

    You will develop and implement strategic plans for nuclear services, ensuring alignment with company objectives;

    You will own processes, policies, and procedures related to nuclear engineering, quality, and training;

    You will lead the team who will manage and coordinate the design interface between the Nuclear Steam Plant (NSP) and Balance of Plant (BOP) portions of a nuclear power plant;

    You will ensure department deliverables in projects or advisory services are produced in accordance with budget, schedule, quality, and technical requirements;

    You will manage training programs and establish a nuclear safety culture;

    You will own the quality program across Canada and integrate with other WSP national and global teams ensuring that work is conducted in accordance with applicable Engineering and Quality Assurance procedures, and in accordance with the contract, applicable specifications, and technical requirements including but not limited to N-Qual;

    You will interface with stakeholders, including Engineering peers, Procurement, Construction representatives, and prospective equipment and/or system vendors, to ensure system designs meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements, and that the resulting designs are constructable, operable, and maintainable;

    You will manage joint pursuits across WSP nuclear teams, providing resource skills assessments and capability assessments in partnership with HR;

    You will collaborate with other departments to integrate nuclear services into broader company initiatives.

    The Skills That Set You Apart

    Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field;

    Minimum of 15 years of experience in nuclear operations, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership role;

    Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation or equivalent in your province of residence;

    Proven experience delivering complex nuclear projects;

    A proven leader with strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to safety and quality;

    Proven experience in Strategic Planning, including:

    In-depth knowledge of nuclear systems, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements;

    Strong technical expertise in nuclear engineering, excellent leadership and management skills, and a proven track record of successful project delivery;

    Strong knowledge of nuclear codes and standards, as well as nuclear operations safety culture, design guidelines, and security regulations;

    Experience managing engineering work with significant interfacing requirements with other engineering teams including Licensing, Safety Analysis, Civil / Structural, and Electrical/I&C.

    Experience working within a Quality Management System (CSA N286), and quality standards (CSA N299).

    Experience managing and/or performing work under nuclear Codes and Standards such as CSA N285, CSA N299, etc.

    This position may require occasional travel to project and industry organization sites;

    The role involves working in both office and field environments.

    Security Clearance with Public Services and Procurement Canada is a condition of employment.

    Your Impact

    Perform and direct others in the detailed design of medium to extra high voltage utility substations.

    One-line diagrams, , conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, general arrangements, elevation views, grounding design, lightning design and calculations, developing design criteria document, selection of substation equipment, writing of substation equipment specifications, proposal development, construction cost estimates, and project scheduling.

    Occasional travel will be required.

    Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent, from an accredited university.

    Ideally Professional license (P.Eng) or P.L. (Eng.) or ability to obtain within 6 months.

    Ten (10) or more years experience in utility substation design as outlined below.

    Strong experience with 15kV through 240kV substation design and IEEE/ANSI standards.

    Proven experience taking a written design basis memorandum (DBM) or scope of work (SOW) and develop a detailed physical substation design and drawing package using sound engineering judgement and industry/client standards with minimal oversight, and cross-coordinate effectively with civil, P&C, and studies engineers.

    Strong experience in the role of design engineer for several substation projects occurring concurrently.

    EHV Substation design experience desired.

    Experience managing projects and leading multi-disciplined teams an asset.

    Cost estimating and scheduling experience desired.

    Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and deliver projects on time and within budget.

    Strong verbal and written communication skills and experience presenting technical topics to clients, including preparation of technical reports.

    Ability to work independently and provide guidance and leadership to junior team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC.

    Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to apply technical knowledge to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, computations, statistical analysis and arriving at the most effective, economical, and logical solution.

    Engineering degree (P.Eng. designation preferred) or technical diploma; PMP or equivalent project management certification is considered an asset.

    Deep expertise in project governance, risk management, and stakeholder engagement within nuclear, energy, or heavy industrial environments.

    Proficiency with MS Office and project management tools (such as scheduling, cost control and reporting systems); bilingualism in English and French is an asset.

As part of the Power Delivery subsector, our Distribution group leads the design of low to medium voltage overhead and underground lines and the facilities that support them. This role gives you handson exposure to real power delivery challenges and the chance to contribute to projects that keep communities connected and energized.

    You’ll take on meaningful work across Canada, applying your technical skills to power distribution projects that directly influence how energy is delivered and maintained.     Your Impact

    Lead design teams for a wide range of utility projects from small customer requests to large scale system reconfigurations.

    Coordinate closely with clients and project managers to ensure seamless project delivery.

    Apply engineering calculations to prepare design packages for overhead and underground power distribution systems.

    Perform quality checks of design deliverables created by junior and intermediate staff to ensure accuracy, compliance with standards, and consistency across all projects.

    Complete tasks such as equipment sizing, material specification, and preparation of construction documentation.

    Design and analyze overhead and underground distribution systems using distribution design software.

    Apply relevant codes and standards, including CSA, to overhead and underground distribution designs.
