    The Role: We are currently partnering with a global mining company that is seeking a new leader for their Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) division as part of their succession planning efforts. This role offers a unique opportunity to join a forward-thinking company within the future-facing commodities sector. Following a recent leadership and cultural transformation, they are looking for an experienced HSE leader to enhance their on-site capabilities.
    As the Manager of Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), you will be responsible for driving the health, safety, and environmental strategies across a large-scale mining operation. This includes leading the development and implementation of standards and processes to minimize risks, ensure compliance with local and federal regulations, and foster a strong safety culture. You will oversee a team of 16 HSE professionals at a large open-pit and processing plant mining site, serving as the key advisor on all HSE matters. Strong relationship management skills with MSHA and other regulatory bodies, along with the ability to lead across all three functions—health, safety, and environment—are essential for success in this role.
    Core Responsibilities:Build a cohesive team environment with consistent messagingLead and manage the key industry regulation body relationships such as MSHA, OSHA, EPALead the implementation of HSE systems, ensuring alignment with corporate strategies.Advise senior leadership on health, safety, and environmental (HSE) priorities, while ensuring compliance with regulations (MSHA, federal, state, local).Lead emergency response planning, incident management, environmental compliance, and site security.Provide required HSE leadership coaching.Manager reporting, compliance, auditing and documentation.
    Key Requirements:Degree education: Related field of Health, Safety, Environment etc10+ years in HSE leadership experience – Mining, Cement, Aggregates etcAbility to develop systems, processes, proceduresStrong ability with establishing critical controls ICAM or equivalent incident investigation experience Strong communicator, proven collaborator, ability to leadTeam management experienceExperience leading all three functions – Health, Safety & Environment (don’t have to be a subject matter expert in all three)
