  • Head of Risk and Compliance, BOXX The Opportunity The Head of Risk & Compliance will oversee all risk and compliance activities for BOXX and serve as the single point of contact to the BOXX CEO on all risk and compliance matters. This role acts as a strategic business partner to BOXX leadership, working closely with the Zurich Insurance Group Global Risk & Compliance team to ensure alignment with Zurich standards, regulatory expectations, and best practices. This is a senior, high-impact role responsible for embedding a strong risk and compliance culture while enabling the business to operate confidently, compliantly, and with the customer at the centre of decision‑making. What you will do Advise the BOXX leadership team and business on all compliance & risk matters Single point of contact on compliance as well as risk matters for the BOXX CEO Liaising with colleagues from the Zurich Insurance Group Risk & Compliance team to resolve risk matters for BOXX Work closely with Legal Counsel and business teams to assess and prepare for any regulatory and legislative change Maintain all relevant compliance policies and frameworks, and support the business in implementing relevant requirements (in particular ABC, anti‑trust, sanctions, conflicts of interest, reporting of improper conduct and concerns) Support the business in designing and implementing adequate compliance controls in line with Zurich requirements Support the business in meeting regulatory obligations under the supervisory regimes of insurance supervisors/ coordinate review on foreign jurisdictions Support the business in meeting all key obligations under corporate, consumer protection, or other relevant law Support the business in meeting compliance‑related obligations imposed by underwriters Work with local HR teams on the design and implementation of required Risk & Compliance trainings Conduct compliance risk awareness‑raising activities Design and execute an assurance plan for BOXX Triage and assess risk & compliance incidents and breaches Monitor all actions related to managing incidents and findings Advise the business on customer‑facing conduct risks related to existing or new products, existing or new distribution agreements, and existing or new product disclosures, marketing collateral, websites or other relevant documentation Support the business and Zurich’s Risk & Compliance team in conducting and/or facilitating annual operational and strategic risk assessments, and monitoring risk mitigating actions Support the business in assessing project risk for major projects as required Prepare reporting materials for local boards and management as required Contribute to the quarterly Group Risk & Compliance report as well as any other ad‑hoc or regular reporting requests from the Cover‑More or Zurich Groups Keep abreast of regulatory and industry trends What you bring to the table At least 5‑7 years of relevant compliance and risk management experience MBA or relevant qualifications in law, business, commerce or equivalent Familiarity with US and/or Canada State insurance supervisory frameworks; familiarity with corporate, consumer protection and other relevant law a plus Experience in the insurance sector and familiarity with insurance terminology, products, issuing systems and distribution methods a plus Process auditing and operational review capabilities Strong verbal and written communication skills Advanced influencing and stakeholder management skills Ability to stand up and hold firm Advanced Microsoft Office skills (incl. We determine compensation based on objective criteria such as skills, experience, and internal equity. The salary range for this position is $130,000 - $160,000. This range reflects the expected pay for the role across Canada and may vary depending on factors like office location, specific responsibilities, and individual qualifications. As required by local law, BOXX provides in good faith a reasonable compensation range, but starting salaries may exceed this range based on a candidate’s skills and experience.
