    - Kelowna

    Job Summary: The Manufacturing, Repair & Overhaul Manager (MRO Manager), reports to the Chief Operating Officer and has general accountability of all processes, policies and personnel assigned to the Manufacturing, Planning and Repair Shops. Departments include Manufacturing Planning & Administration Group, Structures Shop, Component Overhaul Shop, Heat Treating, Resistance Welding, Plating Shop, Paint Shop, Composite Shop, & Machine Shop.
    Responsibilities:
    Operations: • Participates in the development of viable goals and objectives that are consistent with company directives • Participates in planning, developing, coordinating, and implementing operations, programs, services, activities, and/or functions to ensure goals and objectives are achieved and carried out • Continually monitors and evaluates operations, programs, services, activities and/or functions of assigned area for effectiveness, efficiency, quality improvement, and compliance with applicable regulations • Identifies and analyzes problems, deficiencies, and non-compliance within assigned area, making recommendations for taking corrective action to appropriately address them • Ensures that necessary reports, correspondence, documentation, administrative actions, files, and records are correctly prepared, completed, maintained, and/or processed, in accordance with applicable guidelines and directives • Person Responsible for Manufacturing (PRM) – certified by Transport Canada – to oversee the manufacturing of aeronautical products in accordance with Canadian Aviation Regulations & Standards
    Relationships and Communication : • Develops and maintains direct working relationships with staff members and pertinent external parties to ensure necessary cooperation and support • Effectively communicates with subordinates, in a responsible, authoritative, and tactful manner • Responds appropriately to inquiries, requests for assistance, complaints, etc. from departmental staff and external parties • Effectively interacts with TCCA in relation to all employees responsible for manufacturing responsibilities • Serves as member of applicable management team(s), appropriately participating in team decision-making and associated activities
    Human Resource and Employee Relations Functions: • Interviews applicants and makes appropriate selection recommendations according to applicable laws, rules, policies, procedures, and guidelines • Appropriately reviews, recommends, and/or initiates disciplinary actions according to applicable company policies, procedures, and guidelines, carefully considering options available
    Policies, Procedures, Standards, and Guidelines: • Appropriately participates in developing, reviewing, revising, recommending, interpreting, and/or maintaining pertinent policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring conformity with applicable regulations • Ensures, or works with others to ensure, that pertinent policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines are implemented in an effective and timely manner • Keeps abreast of regulatory, management directives, organizational, or other changes or initiatives that may affect assigned area, analyzes impact, and recommends or takes necessary action to address them • Reviews and revises all assigned company manuals including procedures, policy, and supplements
    Training: • Provides specialized technical assistance and direction to staff, as needed • Ensures all training is consistent and current, and all policy requirements are met • Review staff training requirements based on current equipment and process changes
    Documentation, Service Contracts and Reports: • Maintains confidentiality of records according to established guidelines • Completes all forms and documentation in accordance regulations and company policies • Completes accurate reports and logs, as required, and submits to the appropriate personnel on a timely basis • Monitor department health through the development of specific Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
    Positive Leadership and a Strong Team Orientation: • Defines goals and/or required results at beginning of performance period • Communicates regularly with staff on progress toward defined goals and/or required results, providing specific feedback, and initiating corrective action when defined goals and/or required results are not met • Motivates staff to improve quantity and quality of work performed and ensures training and development opportunities are appropriate
    Budgets and Resources: • Conducts and/or participates in the proper and timely preparation and submittal of budget requests for funds, based on adequate identification, assessment, and justification of assigned area's fiscal needs • Resourcefully utilizes allocated budget to cost-effectively meet needs of assigned area • Ensures that assigned resources (e.g., equipment, facilities, etc.) are properly managed, utilized, maintained, documented, and accounted for • Ensures the proper development, review, documentation, implementation, and/or administration of contractual agreements • Development of complex business cases including cost/benefit analysis to secure assets required to improve quality, quantity, and capabilities of the company
    Requirements: • Post-secondary education in a related discipline • A minimum of 7+ years of Leadership experience in a Manufacturing or Aviation setting • Working knowledge of Transport Canada regulations • Technical Training in one or more shops disciplines
    Competencies: • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken • Detailed knowledge of manufacturing specifications, process, and procedures • Professional public presentation and organizational skills • Maintains a high level of confidentiality • Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook • A communicative and enthusiastic personality • Ability to multitask, be flexible and adaptive • Financial literacy in relation to a comprehensive understanding of the drivers of growth, profitability, and the company's financial KPI’s • Business acumen in relation to understanding and dealing with risks and opportunities of the assigned area • Continuous improvement of products, services, or processes • Proficient in organizing resources and establishing priorities

    - Mississauga

    Shift: Monday to Friday – 40 hours per weekPay Rate: $80K range• Interface with production, engineering and suppliers to ensure that requirements are met and correctly documented• Formulate organizational policies and procedures to ensure proper management and efficient activities within organization in accordance with AS9100, ISO9001-2008, and CARs 561 requirements• Lead process improvement planning in a team-based environment• Oversee and direct process quality audits and internal audits of the QMS• Establish control, distribution and preservation of manuals, procedures and quality records• Conduct assessments and propose improvements to methods, systems and procedures in area such as operations, human resources, records management and communications• Develop and maintain training program. Retain the records associated with the quality program• Monitor incoming material quality and work with suppliers to improve as-received quality level. Establish vendor auditing process to mitigate escapes• Provide support for failure analysis and reliability testing as required• Oversee and improve MRB process. Drive timely root cause analysis and implementation of preventive corrective actions for quality issues• Review quality document changes (e.g. ECNs, procedures, work instructions).
