    Job Responsibilities: The Executive Assistant will bring a high level of professionalism, organization, attention to detail and exceptional communication skills. This role provides confidential administrative support to the President and to the Senior Leadership Team upon the direction of the President. This a one year contract for a Maternity leave.
    Key Accountabilities: Draft, review and send communications on behalf of the President; Manage the agenda and schedule of the President; Assist the President with his/her day-to-day duties; Attend meetings and take notes of discussion; prepare the initial draft of minutes; Maintain all social media accounts; Coordinate meetings with external organizations and partners; Assist in the coordination of conferences and trade-shows; Oher duties as assigned by the President
    Knowledge /Experience: 3 – 5 years experience as Executive Assistant; Proficient in MS Office; Proficient in the use of social media, including inputting documentation to the company web-site; Marine background an asset Excellent communication, attention to detail and organizational skills Professional integrity Demonstrate and ability to be flexible with work assignments and maintain a customer focus Ability to meet tight deadlines
    Pre-Requisites Must be eligible to hold NATO Secret Security Clearance Must hold a valid Canadian passport Must reside in the NCR and be prepared to work in the Ottawa downtown office 5 days per week

  • We are looking for for Ship Designers for future opportunities with Duke who have experience in HVAC, Piping, Electrical, and Outfitting design using Ship Constructor and or FORAN who can participate in all phases of new design projects in the shipbuilding industry.
    Job Responsibilities Knowledge of marine design, including detailed knowledge of shipbuilding and production standard methodologies. Proficiency with Ship Constructor or FORAN Extensive knowledge of 3D CAD software required. Working knowledge of basic MS Office suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) Experience working with a diverse integrated team is considered an asset
    Required Qualifications Diploma or Degree in a related subject area, Marine or Shipbuilding industry More than two (2 ) years of designing experience in the shipbuilding field Previous Shipyard experience Must be able to obtain Canadian Secret Clearance

    Job Title : Mechanical Fitter On-site/ Remote/ Hybrid : On Site Location : Hamilton, ON Job Type : Permanent
    The Mechanical Fitter – Tail End & Engine Room Integration is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and alignment of mechanical systems associated with the ship’s tail end, propulsion system, and main engine components. This role ensures all mechanical connections between the tail shaft, propeller, stern tube, thrust blocks, gearboxes, and main engines are properly integrated and meet engineering specifications.
    Job Responsibilities: Tail End System Installation & Maintenance: Install, align, and secure tail shafts, propellers, stern tubes, bearings, and related components. Fit and assemble key components of propulsion systems, including thrust bearings and shaft couplings. Conduct inspections and maintenance of tail end assemblies, ensuring proper lubrication and alignment. Perform bearing and seal replacements. Engine Room Integration: Assist in the installation and alignment of main engines, gearboxes, and auxiliary machinery. Ensure mechanical coupling of propulsion components aligns with engine room machinery and ship structure. Work with engineers to install and commission shaft-driven equipment such as generators and cooling pumps. Ensure all piping, lubrication, and cooling systems related to propulsion are installed and connected properly. Alignment & Precision Fitting: Use precision measuring tools such as dial indicators and laser alignment systems to align shafts and couplings. Perform chocking and foundation fitting to ensure vibration-free operation of rotating equipment. Conduct balancing and trial fitting of rotating components before final installation. Testing & Commissioning Support: Support sea trials and operational testing of propulsion systems. Assist with troubleshooting and corrective actions during initial commissioning. Document test results and provide recommendations for adjustments. Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all workplace safety policies, ensuring proper use of PPE and adherence to confined space and lifting protocols. Follow shipyard and regulatory standards (e.g., class society, IMO, and SOLAS requirements). Maintain clear and accurate records of work performed, inspections, and modifications.
    Required Skills: Education: Trade certification in mechanical fitting, marine engineering, or equivalent experience. Experience: Previous shipyard experience and/or experience as a 2nd Engineer with experience in the above responsibilities. Skills: Strong understanding of mechanical fitting, alignment techniques, and machining principles. Proficiency in blueprint reading, mechanical drawings, and engineering schematics. Experience using precision measurement tools for alignment and installation. Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems related to propulsion. Ability to work in confined spaces and follow safe work procedures.
