    The Division of Geriatric Psychiatry is seeking a Geriatric Psychiatrist in either a full time or part time capacity to joi n 3 other Geriatric Psychiatrists in providing consultation to patients and their families/caregivers, primary care physicians, and fellow health care professionals in Acute Inpatient, Outpatient, and Residential Care settings in Nanaimo.The successful candidate will provide leadership and clinical expertise to the GEM team - a multidisciplinary geriatric consultation-liaison program in acute care. Your complex patients will also have access to acute and rehabilitation programs in Victoria, Duncan, and Ladysmith as part of an innovative Island-wide Tertiary Geriatric Psychiatry program ensuring the highest quality of care.There is also the opportunity to expand your practice interests by providing consultation to remote areas on Vancouver Island through the NITAOP program. It is very rewarding to provide much-needed service for special populations including First Nations. Geriatric psychiatry services are provided as part of Seniors Mental Health, which provides exceptional quality services through integration of resources and a strong focus on educational support of clinicians, physicians and other health care providers. You will participate in clinical service, teaching, and ongoing program development as part of the Island-wide Dementia Strategy, including the newly-opened MINT clinic, conjointly with Geriatric Medicine.Participation in the NRGH General Psychiatry call rotation is a requirement of this position. This would be approximately a 1 in 11 commitment.Involvement in the Island Medical Program undergraduate and postgraduate teaching program is encouraged.     The Division of Internal Medicine at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (NRGH) is seeking full-time General Internal medicine Specialists to join our group. Our General Internal Medicine group at NRGH currently has 5 members along with several part time members, who are a collegial group of internists of various professional backgrounds. There are sub-specialists within the hospital including Cardiology, Hematology, Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Nephrology, Infectious Disease, Respirology, Geriatrics, Neurology, Endocrinology, Obesity, and OB medicine. The hospital has a large hospitalist service (220/330 patients) and is the backbone most responsible physician (MRP) service. Although we have a limited on-site cardiology group, there is timely access to a large cardiology group in Victoria. Internal medicine on-call service and inpatient rounding service are remunerated on a contractual basis with competitive hourly rates. If you meet 1.0 FTE hospital commitment, you would receive free overhead for our hospital-based clinic space with EMR support to follow up on your patients post-discharge as well as newly referred outpatients from the ER. There is also access to electrodiagnostics. Our hospital is a primary referral centre for central Vancouver Island. It serves an immediate population of 125,000 and a secondary population of 330,000 and is a 345 bed hospital, with extensive diagnostic services, dedicated ICU (separate from Internal Medicine), and a renal dialysis centre. The hospital is also a residency site for UBC’s Family Practice Residency Program. Candidates we are looking to join our group will need to be eligible for FRCPC (Internal Medicine with the Royal College of Canada) and eligible for licensure with the CPSBC. True full service community general internal medicine. Candidate would be joining a group of 8 supportive general internists. We provide consultant GIM care to busy community hospital with 105 beds. MRP for 6 bed ICU only. Call responsibility shared equally within the group. Equal share in cardiodiagnostics- including ECG and holter reading, access to stress testing. Interest in liver disease with participation in hospital based multidisciplinary clinic. Outpatient GIM clinic is encouraged. The successful candidates will hold FRCPC in General Internal Medicine and full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC. We are actively looking to fill a vacant fulltime position which may be shared by multiple FPs Physician services at the centre will include providing full-scope primary care within an interdisciplinary integrated team by providing the following activities: Primary care Sexual Health Mental Health Substance use services Harm reduction Gender affirming care And other areas related to centre needs. The Foundry family physicians work collaboratively, with each other, and allied health professionals to provide primary care, including same day appointments, when possible, for patients accessing care at Foundry. To support collaborative care for youth seeking services at Foundry Campbell River, allied health providers may consult with Foundry physicians for advice and patient care management on a regular basis. The Foundry family physicians work collaboratively to ensure care is provided within the centres’ normal operating hours excluding statutory holidays, or as otherwise determined in collaboration with Foundry Campbell River leadership.
