Responsibilities: Provide counselling services to clients referred privately, by employers, by various insurance companies, and other third-party organizations to address psychosocial problems related to injury, trauma, and mental illness. Adopt a goal-focused, therapeutic approach for alleviating distress and improving social and occupational functioning. Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences to discuss clients’ treatment plan and goals, the progress made to date, and any barriers to treatment. Delivery quality reporting and effective communication with all stakeholders. Licensing: Registered with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists as a Registered Counselling Therapist Minimum Master’s Degree in a counselling-related field such as Counselling, Psychology, or Social Work Experience Experience in case conceptualization and treatment of a range of mental health symptoms with a variety of adult clients. Have clinical knowledge in the areas of grief/loss, depression, anxiety, trauma, and adjustment issues. Knowledge of psychological management of chronic pain and concussive syndrome an asset. Training and experience with cognitive behavioural therapy approaches (e.g., CBT, ACT, CPT). Experience working as part of a multi/interdisciplinary team. Experience preparing assessment, progress and discharge reports. Excellent interpersonal skills, solid judgement, and integrity.
