Job TitleProduction SupervisorAbout the RoleAs a front-line supervisor, you will oversee and coordinate daily production operations. This includes supervising staff, maintaining safety and food hygiene standards, and ensuring production schedules and quality targets are consistently met.The role plays a key part in supporting operational goals by fostering team performance, streamlining workflows, and managing resources effectively.You will be responsible for:Supervising and coordinating all production activities and staff to meet daily targets and quality standardsScheduling and allocating labor and resources based on daily operational needsEnsuring compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene regulations (HACCP, GMP, ISO)Conducting training, mentoring, and ongoing performance evaluations for team membersPromoting a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvementMaintaining accurate records of production volumes, inventory, and quality control checksMonitoring inventory levels and coordinating with procurement as neededIdentifying inefficiencies and implementing process improvements to optimize productivityReporting production updates, issues, and recommendations to managementEnsuring safe handling and proper storage of food and hazardous materialsMaintaining visual standards of the production area, ensuring cleanliness, signage, and displaysArranging for the training of new staff and monitoring and reporting on performanceAssisting with resolving day-to-day operational issues including complaints, shortages, and urgent catering requestsEnsuring the visual standards and image of the kitchen is maintained, such as store displays, signage and cleanlinessWorking within a role and performing duties as required and directedQualifications & Experience:To be successful in this role, you should have:Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)2–4 years of supervisory experience in food production, catering, airline catering, hotel, or hospitality industryFood Safety and Sanitation Certifications (e.g. Food Safe, HACCP, GMP, ISO)Strong understanding of operational workflows, labor planning, and safety protocolsPrior experience working in a unionized, multicultural environment is an assetSkills & Competencies:We are looking for someone with:Strong leadership and team management skillsProactive decision-making and problem-solving abilityAttention to detail with a focus on food quality and safetyExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsProficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and inventory/production softwareAbility to work under pressure and meet tight deadlinesKey RequirementsThis role requires:Leadership and team management skillsProactive decision-making and problem-solving abilityAttention to detail with a focus on food quality and safetyExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsProficient in Microsoft Office and inventory/production softwareAbility to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
