Job DescriptionPosition Scope: \nThe Nuna Group of Companies is now accepting resumes for Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic with large earthworks construction / mining project experience.\n \nWe offer: \n\n 2 week on / 2 weeks off or 3 weeks on/3 weeks off rotations; 12-hour days\n Competitive hourly rates with Overtime Pay (1.5x),\n Fly in and fly out.\n Travel and accommodation provided.\n Responsibilities: \nKey Responsibilities:\n\n Diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining equipment, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and uptime of heavy mobile equipment critical to mine operations.\n Works within the contract presented to the client.\n Mentor apprentices and support employee development and training.\n Attend weekly safety meetings and provide a safe work environment.\n Daily documentation and correspondence between client and company on performance of equipment as described in the applicable contract.\n Ensure QAQC forms and red-line drawing packages are being completed properly and submitted in a timely manner.\n Ensure work orders are being filled out properly with quality information.\n Must follow standard safety operating procedures.\n Prioritize and schedule repairs in collaboration with operations and site supervisors.\n Assist in continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment reliability and maintenance efficiency.\n Demonstrate commitment to the continued improvement of Occupational Health, Safety and Environment.\n Keep maintenance reports and documentation Incorporate HS&E concepts into work activities and demonstrates concern for others health & safety (co-workers, clients, and sub trades).\n Qualifications: \nQualifications:\n\n Post Secondary in Heavy Duty Equipment Technician.\n Minimum 2 plus years experience working on larger industrial heavy equipment used in the mining and earthworks industry; (Earthworks, Civil construction, and Mining); \n Excellent communication, and organizational skills.\n Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills in hydraulics, electrical systems, diesel engines, and undercarriage components.\n Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and interpret diagnostic codes.\n Have a valid Class 5 Driver's License.\n Eligible to work and reside in Canada.\n Summary: \nNuna is committed to the principle of employment equity.
