Role Overview The Corporate Partnerships Specialist fosters and solicits new and existing corporate partners, and multi-year gifts to maximize revenue generation. This role involves designing, executing and overseeing a corporate gifts pipeline to maximize engagement and philanthropic support. Responsibilities include facilitating strategies, coordinating initiatives and ensuring timely completion to support Diabetes Canada’s fundraising goals. The portfolio includes philanthropic donations, sponsorships, matching gifts, cause marketing, corporate engagement, and community partnerships. Location: 1300 – 522 University Ave. Toronto, Ontario. A flexible work agreement policy in place allowing employees to work on a hybrid schedule, working remotely, and with the expectation of attending in-person events when needed. This role includes, but is not limited to: Manage and develop a portfolio generating $1,000,000 annually. Collaborate with team members and the Executive Director, Corporate Partnerships to support new and existing partners. Provide insights and creative ideas for proposals. Coordinate and arrange meetings with partners, including logistics. Business Development: Identify growth opportunities within existing relationships. Participate in prospect identification and discovery. Manage assigned industry profiles. Initiate and secure new corporate partnerships in 5-6 figures range. Develop compelling proposals and presentations aligned with partners’ business/CSR objectives. Partners Management – Activation and Stewardship: Serves as the lead relationship manager in the day-to-day stewardship and cultivation of fundraising partnerships, in coordination with corporate contacts. Manage key partner relationships and ensure activities support fundraising or brand awareness objectives. Proactively deepen relationships within the existing account base and engage volunteers for networking. Manage the administrative aspects of partnerships including LOAs, invoices, financial documents with the Coordinator, Corporate Partnerships. Collaborate with other fundraising channels to execute strategies for revenue generation and partnership promotion. Research and Document Preparation & Management (CRM): Assist in prospect research and prepare summaries/briefs. Forecast and track key accounts metrics (e.g., quarterly, and annual forecasts). Prepare reports on account status and budget targets. Format and edit presentations and agreements from draft stage to client-ready work. Support the completion of partnership applications forms. Work with the team to update client information in CRM systems. Prepare monthly prospects reports and other ad-hoc reports as required. The ideal candidate possesses: Relevant post-secondary education and/or specific work experience. 5+ years of progressive fundraising experience, with demonstrated success in the non-profit/charitable sector with corporate partnerships at the $25,000 – $200,000+ giving level. Experience working with CRM systems such as Blackbaud. Proficient with MS Office suite of products, Teams and data management. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Superior organizational, flexibility, and multi-tasking skills within a team environment. Role Overview The Director, Program and Fund Development, reporting to the Executive Director (ED), Community Fundraising and Events (CFE), plays a crucial role in developing, leading and growing Diabetes Canada’s national peer-to-peer (P2P) fundraising program. This role focuses on event logistics, marketing strategies, fundraising materials and successful program implementation to increase revenue. Key accountabilities include project development and management, P2P fundraising and sponsorship sales, community engagement and participant retention. This position collaborates cross-functionally with external vendors, and internal partners from the fund development team, Marketing, IT, Finance, and Procurement. Though currently not a direct people management position, strong leadership skills are essential for managing and motivating volunteers and cross-functional teams. This role has the potential to evolve into a people management position with direct reports as the program expands in 2026. Location: 1300 – 522 University Ave. Toronto, Ontario. This role includes, but is not limited to: Event Strategy and Execution Develop event strategy in collaboration with the ED of CFE, overseeing all operations related to P2P, Gala and sponsorship, including physical logistics, committee development, and team and individual recruitment. This includes creating a new P2P event for Diabetes Canada (DC) to be launched in 2026. Lead sponsorship and corporate team recruitment in collaboration with the CFE team and in partnership with DC’s Corporate Partnerships team where appropriate. Develop and implement the overarching strategy for P2P, utilizing data, industry insights, and best practices. Align strategies with the organization’s current strategic plan. Generate, evaluate, and implement innovative strategies to grow the portfolio. Stay up-to-date on current industry practices and standards in P2P fundraising. Program Development Develop one-to-three-year business plans and budgets for the P2P Signature events program. Research and develop new events to ensure P2P events portfolio remains fresh and facilitates smooth transitions from events nearing the end of their life cycles to new programs. Ensure the integration of compelling mission-based messaging within the portfolio. Develop and execute a training program for the P2P program, including internal communications, virtual training and in-person training for CFE and other DC partners. Lead the development of participant, donor and volunteer experience plans. Work with the DC’s Donor Stewardship team to develop and execute appropriate donor recognition plans and collaborate with the broader team to transition donors between fundraising and stewardship activities. Operations and Budget Management Conduct monthly reviews of department spending against budget and ensure accurate and timely accounting and reporting of expenses. Comply with DC’s financial accounting, IT contract and purchasing policies and procedures. Work with the Technology and Data team to integrate technology into processes and develop efficient tracking systems and dashboards. People Management (Current) Lead, motivate and support a team of volunteers to achieve program objectives. Collaborate with stakeholders to plan and execute initiatives to drive program success. Work closely with other DC teams to align goals and ensure effective program execution. People Management (Future) Potentially lead the hiring, coaching, and management of a direct team as the P2P program expands. Build a high-performing team, developing clear goals, providing regular feedback and offering development opportunities. The ideal candidate possesses: University or College degree in Fundraising, Non-Profit Management, Business Administration Marketing, Communications, or related discipline, or equivalent experience At least 7 years of experience in planning and implementing fundraising events, with a focus on Peer-to-Peer fundraising Demonstrated success in securing event sponsorships of five-figures or more Proficient in using fundraising CRM (Customer Relationship Management) application, e.g. Blackbaud, Luminate Strong communication skills, persuasive communication and teamwork abilities Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook) and donor databases Strong analytic and problem-solving skills Ability to interact positively as a team member, a team lead, and respected voice with volunteers, donors, sponsors and event participants Flexibility to travel throughout Canada and to attend evening and weekend events.
