The Director of Engineering, Foundational Services, is responsible for the delivery of centralized services essential to multiple Emburse products. The scope includes multiple teams and services responsible for our ERP Integrations/Connectors, our Financial Systems Integrations (banking and card partners), Login and authentication services, and services shared by our SaaS applications. The role is responsible for managing managers, accountable for delivery of engineering objectives across multiple engineering teams, the delivery of cross-team initiatives, and building large scale multi-region services. What You'll do: Technical 8+ years software & architecture development. 5+ years of related industry experience and software development / human leadership. Experience delivering services and infrastructure on AWS and related IAC, Security, or a similar IAAC. Experience working in a scrum and DevOps environment, setting objectives and engineering metrics (e.g. DORA), developing engineering strategy and setting software delivery performance. Experience designing and building API services, experience working with 3rd party APIs, large-scale or distributed web applications. Preferred: Experience with Banking or Financial APIs or services, other B2B Partner APIs in a B2B SaaS environment. Emburse is looking for a passionate software engineer to contribute to the development of an engaging and interconnected set of system solutions. As a staff engineer at Emburse, you’ll work with engineering managers, senior engineers, and cross-functional partners to design the technical underpinnings of the product. At the same time, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to be hands-on building key systems, and will be directly responsible for the successful delivery of large-scale technical efforts as well acting as a technical mentor and leader for other engineers. What you will do: Produce quality documentation and architectural diagrams. Contribute to codebase for enterprise SaaS applications and services. This individual contributor serves as the product’s strategic advocate, collaborating cross-functionally across departments including product management, marketing, sales, and customer success to support business growth.
