Marine Field Service Electronics Technician Job OverviewAs a specialist in marine electronics and automation, you will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of various systems on vessels.Main Responsibilities:Install, repair, and maintain PLC-based systems, sensors, alarms, engine monitoring, and other automation-related systems.Troubleshoot complex technical issues using knowledge of electronic theory, marine systems, and control circuitry.Inspect, adjust, align, replace, or repair electronic and automation equipment, assemblies, and components using equipment manuals, schematics, soldering tools, hand/power tools, and electronic test instruments.Key Requirements:Completion of a two- or three-year college program in electrical or electronics engineering technology, computer engineering technology, or an equivalent.At least 24-36 months of experience working as a Maritime Field Service Technician in the commercial industry, fishing industry, Canadian Coast Guard, or Canadian Navy.Strong knowledge of electronics theory and application, including AC/DC electrical theory.Computer networking knowledge (Ethernet, serial communications protocols).Ability to use DVM, oscilloscope, and other test equipment.Interpersonal and communication skills, with fluency in English and a working knowledge of French.
